Balmoral Show

We were delighted to be back at Balmoral Show supporting the Shearing competition’s recently. Agricultural shows have been missed but it was fantastic to be involved in the atmosphere that the shearing competitions bring to the show.

Congratulations to Matthew Robinson from Carrickfergus on taking first place in the ‘Royal Ulster International Sheep Shearing Championships – Junior’ and to all other participants in the shearing and wool handling competitions.

Andrew Hogley, Ulster Wool CEO and Gareth Jones, Head of Producer Marketing made their way around the show, meeting with key industry figures and partners; Edwin Poots MLA, The Rt Hon George Eustice MP, William Irvine, Deputy president UFU and Martin Reid, YFCU CEO.

The importance of having strong relationships with industry partners has been highlighted this year with the success of the Covid-19 support scheme for the Northern Ireland wool sector.
