We're recruiting - Warehousing Operative/FLT Driver

Ulster Wool is looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative who will be based at our Muckamore Depot, reporting to the Depot Managers on site.  This role is to undertake warehouse tasks/processes, and implementing the movement of wool using a counter balance fork lift truck. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Unloading wool sheets from HGV's
  • Weighing sheets upon receipt into the warehouse
  • Prepare wool sheets to be transported to grading points and lanes
  • Transferring wool to various processes within the warehouse via skeps
  • Operation of machinery, be able to implement instruction and guidance provided
  • Carry out other ad-hoc duties that are commensurate to the role

Skills, Abilities & Experience:

  • Current counterbalance forklift truck licence (preferred)
  • Have previous warehouse working experience, 6 months minimum (essential)
  • Full clean driving licence (essential)
  • The ability to work independently and be self-motivated is necessary
  • An effective team worker
  • A good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Demonstrate a good work ethic, be conscientious of quality of work output
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance

Working Hours:

Three shift patterns in operation, normal working hours are:

8.00am to 16.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8.00am to 15.30pm (39 hrs per wk), shift operates for 26 weeks.

Shift 1:  Operates in peak season for 13 weeks: 7.00am to 16.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 7.00am to 15.30pm (44 hrs per wk)

Shift 2:  Operates in low season for 13 weeks: 8.00am to 15.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8.00am to 14.30pm (34 hrs per wk)

  • Salary details upon application.  A contributory pension scheme is available to join.
  • Annual leave 22 days per year (pro-rata in the first year) in addition to the 10 statutory holidays, after two years continuous service the annual leave entitlement increases to 25 days per year.
